This summer I want to learn how to make my own granola bars and popsicles – two summer foods I like to eat a lot.
I plan to test out two new recipes each week, for the next two months. (July & August) My sister has agreed to be my guinea pig and taste test along with me. It’s always good to have an extra set of taste buds.
I’m going to put an inspirational note to myself in a prominent place in my kitchen, where I will see it each week, and remember how excited I am about making popsicles! I also plan to make notes on the results of each recipe, so that I can choose a favorite or two at the end of the summer.
And with that, let’s talk about organizing your goals.
Do you have any goals for summer? Anything new you’ve always wanted to try, books to read, or a new sport to learn?
Some tips for making it happen:
– Make is specific, with a Timeframe. Instead of “I want to try new recipes”, I’ve decided to try one new granola bar and popsicle recipe each week, for two months. I put up a note to remind myself, and I plan to take notes on each recipe.
– Applicable. Is it important to you? This is something I’ve been interested in for a while, not just a fun whim, but something that will make a difference in my daily life.
– Get someone else on board. Blogging about your goals is a great way to encourage yourself to make progress on them! There’s always the chance that someone will see your post and ask you about it…which encourages you to have something positive to report. My sister the taste tester will undoubtedly be asking me when her next batch of granola bars is going to show up.
So get out there and set some summer goals. And if you have any great granola or frozen treat recipes, send them my way! (Check back this weekend for some recipe reviews.)
